Where is the Best Beer Selection in Houston, Texas?

We love this place. Great food – try the curries on Wednesday evenings, a choice from 7 curries and a pint for $16.Every week night finds some special, Steak, Burger, Curry, Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and all top notch food. The beers’s a tiny bit pricey – although you can always drink “lite” beer for next to nothing. Loads of choice, real British Ale and a British Boozer atmosphere to match. The star of the show is George, the surfer barman, if you’re lucky enough to get in while he’s working, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about what’s going on in Houston and elsewhere, and will always point you inthe right direction about what’s on the menu, and more importantly, what’s off the menu – there’s always loads of stuff not listed.Just try it.Pros + Great Food, great beer, and the surfer barman – fantasticCons – A tiny bit pricey but hey, it’s worth it.

I found the bar to be OK, not big crowds at all, but the food is good, they have great pasta salads and the best pizza, the drinks are fair in price and the stuff great, but the best part of the bar is their bouncer. His name is Juice and he is a big guy. Alot of people say he looks like the guy on the Green Mile Move, but he is nice and funny and friendly. Really makes you feel welcome. He can be tuff when he needs to be, but really brings fun to the club. He has a laugh like Eddie Murphy. You can sit on the patio out front by the door and talk to him, have a drink . He will make any ones bad day turn out good. I like his laugh it just makes you feel good. For any other reason to stop by this bar it would be do say hi to Juice. Oh ladies if there is a guy giving you a hard time and won’t let you alone while your there, Just let Juice know he will handle it for you.Pros + Food and Drink Good, Atmosphere goodCons – Not very crowded, to loud can’t hear people when they talk to you

We’ve went a few times during “off” daytime hours for a quick beer while we were out walking. Service was great but the pint glasses were “soapy” so we ordered canned cheap beer on special. We went once during a busy time at night, and it was a madhouse. We tried getting a beer at the bar, but failed after a few minutes and just went home. We’re thirty-somethings, and the night crowd didn’t really suit us well anyways. It’s not a “pub”….it’s a huge college sports bar, IMHO. Not that a big frat party is a terrible thing, just not usually where I hang out at night. One afternoon we tried the burgers and fries, and they were great. But, they were VERY expensive. Add a slice of cheese, fries, a beer or two, and the tip, and you’re looking at $20 each for lunch. I guess all the people from the suburbs in for the ball games are used to paying that much, so they get away with those prices. Downtown/EaDo locals know better. ;)Very spacious…I’m sure we’ll swing in there again one after

My husband COOGS and I have been regulars here for a couple of years now, coming 2-3 times per week to play NTN/Buzztime trivia with our friends. Mezz offers an all-around great experience, from the attentive staff to the food (the Mezzy burger is a world unto itself, while COOGS swears by the nachos) to the ambience (lots of things to do even for the non-trivia player, including pool, karoaoke, Golden Tee, and and Texas Hold ‘Em). The Mezzanine rightfully won the Houston Press “Reader’s Choice” award this year for best drink specials, from its $2.50 U-Call-It Tuesdays to the Fiesta Fridays where both Dos Equis and margaritas come in also at $2.50.Owners Tonya and Tommy put a lot of energy into coming up with even more ways for people to have fun, from the monthly theme party to the new Wednesday movie night on the patio with free popcorn. Plus this is “the” place to celebrate a birthday–as we both will be doing this week: the enormous “Gullywasher” for the birthday person, plus fre

You got your chair pulled from underneath you? Wow that is really really rude but your a dumbazz cause i was there and you deserved it. Next time the bouncers tell you to finish your drink and start heading out,not once, not twice, but 3 times,i suggest you do just that! Lucky you only got your chair pulled, cause if you come to the bar i work at in the village,it will be alot worse! Houstonjoe your a f’ing moron that simple! Oh my god,you know the bartenders names, dude you are my role model,i want to be just like you besides eatting the deck and breaking my glass. Brian O’Neills ya’ll are great, from the bartenders and esp the bouncers!
