Where is the Best Beer Selection in Dallas, Texas?

0

I go here alot. I live out of state. I was there on January 17th 2009. Some bikers were hanging around and they stole my cell phone [Blackberry Storm] and my digital camera [Canon] right off the bar and I was sitting right there. Just be wary of the shifty people that might be hanging close by and keep your belongings close by. Other than that this bar is alot of fun.Pros + Good fun relaxed enviornmentCons – Bikers stole my cell phone and camera

I usually don’t write reviews, but when I saw the two negative reviews below, I thought I should.I know nothing about any driver’s license scams, but as a recent import to Dallas from Philadelphia, I can tell you that the Flying Saucer is the best place I have found to drink ‘good’ beer. I realize that Dallas has not jumped on the micro brew/import wave the way much of the rest of the country has, but after going to a number of bars/clubs that only have macrobrew (Coors/Bud/Mich/etc.) swill and Shiner…I came across this one place that is an oasis in an otherwise beer deficient city. I’ve been there 6 times, and the service was always good. There are about 200 beers available, and the selection changes a bit here and there including seasonals. Happy hour specials are great. Check their website, but I go on Fridays, and it’s a tall beer for the price of a pint. Good deal.I would not recommend the food by the way, but you don’t go here for food, you go here for good beer.Cheers!P

Had a few pints today and thought I put in my two cents. In amist of overly trendy (over priced) bars this is the real deal.Great drinks, reasonable prices and a cozy pub feel.I hate to give a good review because I don’t want this little gem to become the Dubliner. If you know the feel of a cozy pub this is the place..Pros + Great pub feelCons – ????

I have to say that the most refreshing thing about this pub is that it’s not filled with smoke. We went on a Wednesday night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The crowd was a nice mix of older and younger people. The place has a very warm feeling, largely because of the heavy use of wood in the decor. Very cozy. The beer list is incredible, though a bit pricey. We had the queso and the fish and chips. The fish was excellent with a batter that didn’t act as a sponge for the oil it was fried in. Nice and crisp with good fries. The queso was very “white bread”, if you’ll excuse the expression. It was plain but good with lots of little chopped tomato mixed in. I loved the idea of the flight of three 6 oz draft beers for less than $6.00. But, I was so full after the meal that I couldn’t manage it. There are no happy hour specials. And it’s not a quiet place by any means. In fact, the first time I tried to visit I turned around and walked out because a World Cup game was on t

Four of us arrive at Suite well healed. My physician friend is taking us out to celebrate his just announced engagement. We were told that to enter we were to purchase a table and a bottle per couple, for a minimum of $600. For New Years Eve that’s one thing, but for a regular night and it being somewhat early, (there was no crowd and the parking lot was near empty) I just wonder what gives. Attractiveness can be arbitrarily judged, but if we arrive well dressed, and there is room, then our business should be appreciated. No SweatPros + LocationCons – Crazy Prices
