I love the Gary Manuel Salon. The staff at the reception desk are professional, friendly and always helpful. Everyone at the salon provides a great environment. I love going there. I also love my hairstylist, Michelle.I know from painful experience with other hairstylists that my hair is not easy to cut. I went to Michelle after another stylist at a different salon massacred my hair. Michelle was warm, understanding, and quickly gained my confidence with her straight forward honesty. She performed magic! I have seen Michelle many times since. She always manages to find different cuts that work for my hair so that I am not stuck with the same look. She is also a goddess when it comes to hair color, including highlights and lowlights. Michelle is passionate about her work and it shows in the results.Sometimes I am really adamant about trying a new cut that is way out of character for me. The cut was beautifully executed and I would live with it for about a week. Unfortuna

I am new to Seattle and I avoided getting my hair done for a few months, mostly because I am very picky and usually disappointed when I get my hair done away from my hometown hairdresser back in Boston. But after being recommended to The Gilt Edge Society, I thought I would give it a chance. I called and they made me an appointment with Holly and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I went in there not knowing exactly how I wanted it done, and I left knowing it was perfect. I have dirty blonde hair and usually get it highlighted and cut, but this time I wanted to go a bit more natural. So Holly recommended doing high- and low-lights and they look great – as if they grew right out of my head! Holly might be young, but she works like she has been styling hair forever. And she even stayed late to fit me in her schedule that night because I had to work until 5pm.Ask her for advice too – she knows all the best products and techniques. I may have been there for a long time (highlighting,

You know, my significant other used to work at Habitude, and it just amazed me how badly they treated their employees in terms of fundamentals like reasonable scheduling and fair compensation. Turnover has been incredible lately, and it sounds like there have been a lot of questionable business practices at both locations that are now coming back to haunt the owner. By way of example, have you noticed that many of the recent glowing reviews on this site also happen to promote (1) the owner herself, or (2) retail products sold at the salon? Enough said.

For you quick readers:They just moved to a new location downtown and expanded their services. Been going to them for over a year now for haircuts, and recently started getting massages there as well. The new place is super nice, staff is always extremely hospitible and they have great personalities.Haircuts: Great haircuts for dudes, a bit more expensive then the quick haircut places but cheaper then the salons and MUCH higher quality haircuts than either. Worth every penny, I’ll be here for lifeMassage: Ali is F’ing amazing, she has the absolute perfect balance of pressure and comfort which makes every bit of difference in a massage. Again, a bit more expensive then the mall joints, but cheaper then the high end salons and EVERY bit as worth it.Manscaping: I hate admitting it, but I get my eyebrows waxed every month or so. I’m lazy and don’t want to pluck, so spare me the riducle. None the less my eyebrows still look like a straight man’s dude brows when I leave and th

MY kids and I have been going to Scream for years. They offer consistently great haircuts, a friendly and “kitchy” decor, a fun and diverse place to get a hair cut. Good prices makes this a 5 star deal. I can usually get in the time, date, and day that works with my schedule, too.Pros + cost, environment, great hair cuts, easy schedulingCons – none
