Where is the Best Barber in Portland, Oregon?
I’ll admit that I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to grooming and fashion. I grew up going to the neighborhood barbershop where men sat around talking about the weather, their crops, politics and the like. It was really a matter of convenience that forced we away from this type of barber shop–they never seem to be open when I have time for a hair cut. It was with great reluctance that I began visiting chain salons for a hair cut. They never did a bad job on my hair–I go for a pretty simple style, which helps–but it was always more of a chore than a positive experience to get my hair cut. Not so with Hair M. I now find myself looking forward to my next hair cut. The atmosphere combined with the quality of service make it a great experience. I had Stacey at afterglow do my hair and makeup for my wedding in November and it turned out wonderful. She even was willing to travel clear to Seattle, where our location was, to be on site the morning of my big day. I have been getting my hair done with her since she moved here in october, and I was so happy to have such a skilled and reliable stylist there for me. Everything turned out great and the test trials for hair and makeup were completely free making the whole thing really reasonable. I had previously tried out different types of makeup at makeup counters and kept ending up not looking at all like myself or having extremely smokey eyes, which was not what I wanted for my wedding. It was a relief to hear that my stylist had done wedding makeup before in California and was able to give me a lovely natural look that turned out great in pictures. My search for an incredible and perfect hair stylist is finally over!! Heather is absolutely the answer I have been waiting for. You guys, she is an angel sent from heaven!!!! I have been to way too many hair stylists and salons (seriously, it’s embarrassing to share all the places and people I have been to in order to find Heather) only to be disappointed. All my haircuts in the past have either been terrible, mediocre, or just something that I am not wowed by. You know those people you see walking down the street and you want to just stop and ask them where they get their hair done? Well….thanks to the lovely Heather, I am now one of those people! I have NEVER been one those people until I went to Heather! It’s not only that other people notice my fabulous hair, but I feel like a movie star now. I have been seeing Anna for going on 4 years now. I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. Anna has done various styles and colors for me ranging from conservative to drastic color combinations. She is wonderful at listening to what you want and helping you decide if that will really work for you. She has also educated me on proper hair care…Teaching me about what my hair really needs to be healthy. My husband gets his haircut by Anna and is always pleased with it. She is also great at waxing and shaping my hard to deal with eyebrows. Prices are reasonable, conversation is lively and the atmosphere is friendly.Overall, coming to Hello Gorgeous (even though it is a drive to Hillsboro for me), is a great experience and I wouldn’t trade Anna for anything!Pros + Too many pros to name them all!
