Where is the Best Barber in Charlotte, North Carolina?

Moving from New York to North Carolina in June 2008 was a BIG change. I was terriffied to have anyone touch my hair. Having the same person cut/style/color my hair for the past 20 years – I was quite nervous. So, going 5 months with bad hair, North Carolina sun damage and plenty of pony tail days, my daughter and I decided it was time – not to fly back to New York for an emergency hair overhaul, but to try a recommended salon. We arrived and EVERYONE was so friendly and sincere. They made us feel like we have been going to Savvy for years. The stylist looked over my hair, asked what I was wanting to achieve and discussed everything she was going to do. Gave an amazing hair wash and scalp massage. She explained simple solutions to make my hair look healthier, explained every detail along the way, even down to how to properly blowdry it. I was totally impressed. The BEST part of all: My fabulous new hair style. My hair NEVER looked so shiny, healthy and felt this soft! I LOVE

One of my friends has been going to Emerson Joseph for almost a year and he kept asking me to check it out. Finally I broke down and got a haircut. I am glad I did. I really liked my stylist. Her name was Brandi and she was fun to talk to, attractive, and she did a great job on my hair (and I am very picky). I also liked the environment. It was very cool but still comfortable. Sportscenter was on the TVs and we shot a game of pool. The card room in the basement was a real trip. We’re getting a group of guys from work for a card a night of cards during Monday Night Football…my wife is thrilled there won’t be any cigars in our dining room next week. All said, I highly recommend Emerson Joseph.Pros + Great haircut, cool environment, fun people, neat surprises (i.e. card room) Cons – None

I had been spoiled when I moved here from Washington DC. My best friend there is a top stylist that is booked months in advance with all the “Who’s Who” of the DC metro area. So for the first few years I would fly back on E-savers for her to do my hair, but that became too inconvenient. I started searching and after TONS of trial and error, I finally found Jason at Varji. Both the south park location and the Morehead street location are nice. Jason mainly works at Morehead which works best for my Elizabeth location. However I have zero hesitation to travel to South Park when he is there. He takes the time to listen and his cut is fantastic. After my second visit he had my color down perfectly (he had to fix a mess I brought him the first visit). He really funny and kind, and makes you feel right at home. I have had several strangers stop me and ask me about my cut since I started seeing him in November. After my very first visit, my mother took one look at the results and bo

I am new to Charlotte and tried this salon twice so far. Once for color – loved it. And another for a cut – loved that too! I received comments on my hair immediately afterwards by strangers on the street. I must agree, however, about the front desk. The first time I walked in, I almost walked right back out. The front desk was scowling and unfriendly and I really got this snobbish feeling from them. They barely spoke, really didn’t smile, and I don’t believe they even said thank you. The owner or manager (not sure which one he was) was very pleasant and friendly though. The front desk kind of ruins the whole pleasant, spa-like experience. They are the first ones and the last ones you see so it kind of strips away the great experience of the scalp massage, beauty treatment, hair style once you have to go past the front desk.Yeah, they try to push products on you, but so does everyone – even the people in the mall kiosks or the service staff in restaurants. Everyone has s
