Where is the Best Barbecue Food in Sacramento, California?
We tried Memphis BBQ late on a weeknight, both of us very hungry. The barn-like restaurant was very quiet, I imagine it’s fun on busy nights. The service was very good, but the food was disappointing across the board. The half chicken was small, dry and stringy. The pork ribs were a little better but still dry and overcooked. The BBQ sauce was thin and vinegary, not to my liking. The beans were very good, but the novel sounding mustard slaw was bland and unappetizing. Not sure how many of you out there, get to kick back in a kitchen with a true master of BBQ– Well this is as close to it as you can get. The food is screamin’ and the beers are ice cold too! Do yourself a favor and work your way through the menu and experience all that Jeff has to offer..I heavily dig the HUGE, HUGE FLINSTONE STYLE RIBS in a custom made sauce that makes you salivate out of control…and a mac and cheese that is un-matched, goes perfectly with it.I have found the actual heaven of real B-B-Q people…great portions, high quality, fresh food and a laugh too! Lie to yourself and say that you can save room for desert… fa-get about it! Get it to go!!Pros + They know what beer I likeCons – Can’t wait to see the new Jeff’s BBQ opening soon.
Price is fair for the amount of quality food that you get. They have their own beer which is affordable and delecious with a small bite at the end. The atmosphere is great for any occasion and any climate. They have live bands play now and then. Over all one of the best bbq places I have ever been to.
