Where is the Best Barbecue Food in Norfolk, Nebraska?

I am stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base and Googled BBQ with several hits. After clicking each one and some reviews I decided Megallons was the best choice to drive to (there?s not one near the base). Being from Texas I wanted something I thought would taste close to home. The location is small next to a used car shop but is painted PINK so you should find it. I was going to get some sliced beef sandwiches but he does not sell beef. I opted for the sliced pork. The owner was an older chubby gent but very nice and gave you that home cooked and proud of it feeling. I?m sure I looked out of place with my 40 year old yuppie look while he spoke to customers about missing fishing lately. After a few minutes he gave me my food and with his friendly smile and attitude I left him a tip in his tip jar. He did sell other items like the half or full set of pork ribs, cole slaw, chicken and other items. The sliced pork sandwiches I ordered were way better than I expected and the sauce was a very g

I travel for a living and consider myself somewhat of a “professional” eater with a particular affinity for BBQ and homemade side dishes.I happened onto this place in Chesapeake several months ago and I can honestly say that they “fill the bill” in both categories……..excellent bbq and real, scratch made sides and desserts.Everytime I’m there, they are either putting meat in the pit or just taking it out so I know it’s fresh cooked on site. You can smell that hickory smoke for a mile in either directionThe price is right tooPros + Real food, fresh made, plenty of itCons – Haven’t found one yet

….. “We guarantee to provide you with only the very best barbeque around. Call us anytime, seven days a week for more information.” I called County Grill on Mar 26 at noon to make a reservation for a large party in the next few months. The staff member that answered the phone said they were extremely busy and I would have to call back after 2pm. I would have expected the staff to at least take my name and number and call me back when things slow down. Needless to say our party will be held elsewhere and their “Call us anytime….” motto is a little watered down. In fairness, I will say that the food is good…but customer service needs to tightened up

We went to this place place on Saturday before dinner rush (about 5:30) and could not believe the lack of management. The place was not clean, both the restrooms were filthy, one stall was so gross you couldn’t go in it. The toilet paper and towels were falling everywhere and gross stuff was on floors and countertops. Who knows when the last time this bathroom was cleaned. I told mangager, he said he would take care of it, but when I went back in later, the only thing different was the grossness out of the one stall. Our server took 15 mins to finally get to our table to take our order. Meanwhile, there were about 12 staff standing around chatting inlcuding the manager. If I owned this place, he would be fired! The pulled pork was just ok, the wet ribs dry. It took forever to get anything we asked for ketchup, slaw, etc. By this time we were so frustrated we could not enjoy anything.Stay away, there are much better restaurants in Williamsburg.
