Read reviews from citysearch and thought going there for their crawfish special. Service is quick except when seating, no one helps. Waitress comes to us within couple minutes and bring drinks right away. recommend us happy hour specials. very nice. crawfish is great and spicy. We also had a chich philli cheese and it is the best chick sandwich we ever had. Food comes to table quick. Waitress comes by a few time during meal to check on us and replace filled bucket (alot crawfish shells). We had good time there. Will go again.Pros + crawfish, serviceCons – indoor is small, parking

I am a Q connoisseur. I know that is sort of an oxymoron, but don’t get me wrong. I don’t like it fancy ’cause that is not what good BBQ is all about. I have been smoking whole animals for years, toured the country experiencing regional differences from FL to KC to Memphis, SE Ohio to Carolina, and now TX. I justify this as field training…learning the way of the pit-master. Overall, this is the best I have had in Houston so far and I would rate this as worth the drive. What I like about the Swinging Door is that it captures the local style, specific points below.1) It is not in town (+), 2) they use pecan for wood (+++ ) high marks for using the local fuel3) their meat can satisfy without sauce (++) Brisket– good rub, moist, good flavor, a bit soft, not like competition standards, but appeals to me.Ribs–pork, this is beef country, but ribs really should be pork, firm meat competition style, mild rub, great pink color, mild pecan infused smoke throughout4) Sauce–they have a

This is an old school BBQ counter in the back of a convientant store in the small community of Fulshear. The times I have been there I have always gotten a plate with brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad and its always been great. Brisket was sliced thin and very lean, it was good with some plain white bread. The sausage is great, they make it onsite. They also do deer processing here, thats how I heard of the place. The sides are alright, they have redish baked beans and regular mustard potato salad which I put thier suace on, which was an improvment. This is a great out of the way place thats a throwback to the BBQ counters of the old days. Pros + brisket and sausage

I love to eat BBQ and i am always open to trying new resturaunts…after a long day of shopping my fiance suggested that we try a new bbq spot across the street so i was all about it. It is sort of a tiny place but i liked that they had boothes to sit in and i liked how some of the food was in view on the line when i ordered cause i like to see what something looks like b4 i order it (if it looks delicsh 98% of the time it tastes it too). I ordered the bbq chicken and i was alittle hesitant bc in my past experience resturaunt chick. can never beat homestyle bbq but boy was i wrong…this bbq chick was BETTER! It had JUST ENOUGH suace and the meat was so juicy, even the sides were amazing and i mean ALL of the sides i had the potatoes which were really great i ate it ALL and the green beans which were the best bc they were the french style ones which are my fav. and they had such a great flavor. this place is hands down the best bbq ive ever eaten, i will definitly suggest it to everyo
