Where is the Best Barbecue Food in Austin, Texas?
My husband and I ate there with a couple of friends. I had the Tuna Melt (juicy and savory!) and hubby had a Double Flatty Burger (also excellent). The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. You can choose to eat in the dining room, which has the feel of a classic burger joint. Or you can go eat on the “Back Patio” which is a LARGE deck area with an assortment of tables and a HUGE bigscreen TV where they show sports games. If you eat out there, you can have your dog with you. They even have theme nights especially for people and their dogs. I wish I could eat there regularly, but I live too far away from Austin!Pros + excellent food, fun relaxed atmosphereCons – There are no Hubs close to where I live!
This is hands down my favorite barbecue in Austin. The quality and taste of the food is outstanding, and the portions are enormous. I have a pretty big appetite, and I usually have two full meals worth of food when I eat here. The atmosphere is great. This place can get pretty busy on the weekend nights, but they have a lovely outdoor waiting area where you can sit by the river and order drinks while you are waiting. They are also quite large so the wait is not perhaps as long as it would be elsewhere given how many people go. You should note that this resteraunt is of the full sit down barbecue style and is therefore sometimes a bit more expensive than other barbecues in Austin, but it is also a nicer overall experience and better food. I highly recommend it.Pros + Top of the line barbecue, great atmosphereCons – one of the higher priced type of barbecues, but well worth it
I visited for the first time after hearing about it a couple weeks ago. I am always looking for good Chinese food, and Chinese BBQ is even harder to find! I was very impressed with the quality of the service and food, and it was fun to have a large group so we could all share! The more traditional Chinese dishes were definitely great and everyone enjoyed them, great crab wontons, and the BBQ dishes were awesome… you have to try the Peking Duck!! I would recommend for small and large groups, the menu seemed to have an option for everyone. I will definitely be back soon to try the dishes I was too full to order! Pros + Good Variety and Family Style for Sharing!
Came down for the Los Lonely Boys Concert, which by the way was fantastic and Stubb’s outdoor concert stage in the back was a reat place to watch and listen to music, A+. Now the food – ribs and chicken were OK, but the sides and appetizers needed a lot more taste than what was presented to us. The portions are difinitely small, surprisingly coming from a Texas B-B-Q joint and especially for the price your paying for them. Come here for the music, but you can find better elsewhere if you have the time. Pros + Music VenueCons – Appetizers and Sides need flavor
