Where is the Best Bar Scene in Austin, Texas?
My fiance from the Eastcoast and I absolutely LOVE this place!!!!!!! I cannot put into words how romantic and FUN this place is. Whenever he is in town, our weekend ritual is: 1)Drive to Saba, 2) check the car in at the Valet, find our favorite secret spot (we have 2 and I’m not telling). 3) I order the Fresh Mint Mojito and he orders water with the crusted shrimp appetizer, 4) I order the grilled Talapia with Jasmin rice instead of the pinneapple rice & he orders the steak dinner. 5) We both praise how wonderful Saba is and marvel at the excellent customer service from all waitresses and staff. One time, the owner offered to make arrangements for my guy to access cash from his card, in order to pay valet. He went above and beyond to make it happen and we’ve been patrons ever since!Their Mojitos are the BEST here! And the fun part kicks in as we wait for our car outside and listen and dance to whatever live band is playing in the neigboring courtyard. WE BOTH LOVE YOU SO MUC
Trio is such a great dining spot for Austin. My husband and I like to dine out, and have tried almost every restaurant in Austin. We continue to go back to Trio because the total experience is memorable every time. The food is such a wonderful combination of innovative and local. The ingredients are fresh, the best of the best, and expertly handled. The wine list- by the glass and by the bottle- is so complete. The span the globe and price, but everything is great. The sommelier, Mark Sayre, was named The best Sommelier in Texas, and he is such a nice guy. He makes the list and menu navigable for any amount of knowledge or experience. I have also found the wine prices to be surprisingly low- at or lower than any other restaurant in town. That is such a nice surprise in a swanky place like the Four Seasons.Lunch and dinner are always winners, but now they have upped the stakes with a wonderful Happy Hour. Half price appetizers and wine! How can you beat that? Its a great i
The bands are usually very good. Dance space is limited and they have tables on the dance floor. Also, when bands like Suede play people fill the dance floor and just watch.. People, this is a COVER BAND.. let the people who want to dance use the dance floor. I would like to see management control this more. All it takes is an announcement that the floor is for dancing, you can watch from anywhere. Another complaint is with the smoking in the bar area. I realize they somehow have special permission to allow smoking, but you really need to ban CIGARS from the area since you spent all the money on having a CIGAR ROOM to smoke in. There is nothing more offensive than a Ahnold Schwartzennegar wannabe pretending to smoke his cheap stogie in a crowded room. Lastly, the bartenders can be slow. It’s not uncommon for them to be chatting amongst themselves when there is a line 3 deep at the bar waiting for service. If they address these three issues, its a great place for the 30 to 55 crowd..
There is a reason why this place gets crowded and the that reason would be the Spazmatics on Wednesday night! Other than the Spazmatics, the best bartender in Austin works here and his name would be Sanchez! Find him and you will never opt for another bartender ever. Just tell him what flavors you like and he’ll craft the perfect martini for you. Some of my favorite drinks (the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ and ‘Berry Shizzle’) were made up by him and can’t not walk down 4th street without stopping by to get one before the night is over! The atmosphere is chill on nights other than Wednesday. If you’re ever on 4th, don’t pass up this bar! Pros + Custom tailored martinis to your taste, chill on nights other than WednesdaysCons – Cougar night on Wednesday! Come early on Wed if you want a good seat
I think you were in the wrong spot, if you voted less than 5 stars. Yes, the bar opens at 9, but honestly who wants a hyped up scene right at 9. The reason why I love this bar so much, is because after work I can go to a happy hour with the team from work, and if a few of us want to go somewhere after happy hour, we’ll head over to Firehouse. It’s clean, it’s cozy, at 9 it’s not too loud, the bar staff is friendly and hot, and on a couple of occassions I’ve gone there alone. I don’t mind heading there alone, because I know the barstaff will keep me company until my friends get there, or I meet new ones. It’s an awesome place to be yourself at. Single, Married, Dating, Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Confused/Straight, it doesn’t matter. It’s a very mature 21+ bar, with a healthy, fun, and beautiful environment. Everyone I bring into Firehouse is always impressed with the bartenders, because they shake your hand, they greet you by name, and they don’t forget it, another reason why I like to arrive earl
