Where is the Best Bakery in Seattle, Washington?

Years ago my husband and I ordered our Marzipan covered cake from Larsen’s in Magnolia- and our guests still rave about it! This Ballard location offers all the same and is a wonderful place to forget all your dieting cares and have some fun! They offer everything from your standard doughnuts to some tasty Scandinavian treats. Even the rolls are a treat- get some to go for sandwich making. Forget Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts- Larsen’s is the true doughnut royalty.Pros + Pastries done right, Friendly serviceCons – you’re going to crave them

This place is fantastic. Recommend going for both breakfast and lunch. Delicious pastries for breakfast, highly recommend the Junction Croissant. Also, have great sandwiches and pizza by the slice for lunch. This place is always busy and there is rarely a table available so, grab it to go and head down to Lincoln Park for a picnic, enjoy the scenery…

The food is so delicious that you won’t want to waste a single morsel. Their fresh ground coffee and fresh chocolates are a huge plus. They keep their charming atmosphere, eventhough they distribute on a large scale. From muffins in the morning to stromboli at lunch, you really can’t go wrong here. The service is friendly and you never feel rushed…Pros + delicious food, freshCons – hard to locate

An easy-to-drive-by traditional French Bakery, Le Fournil has never disappointed when I am craving a sandwich, a coffee, a pastry, or all three. I am a trucker (original word starts with s and rhymes with trucker) for their tuna sandwich; I get this about 80% of the time. Served on a portion of their fresh baked baguette, any of their sandwiches make for one fine lunch. The soup is pretty good too, but again, the tuna rules. Their lunch special (available whenever) includes a pastry and a drink for about $8. Too many pastry choices to list (probably close to 20!). All delicious. My favorites include the mille fueille (?) and the choux. The coffee is good. I typically go for a latte and have yet to be disappointed. Beware: Long lines can form during breakfast and lunch. While the place is ‘easy to drive by’, once people find it (myself included), they quickly learn to make a stop. Don’t let this discourage you though, the food is definitely worth the wait. The new-er decor is nice and t

The macrina experience is mediocre. The food is decent, but the atmosphere is nothing to boast about. The staff are not particularly friendly or customer-service oriented. It can take forever to get a coffee or lunch. The salads are good, but they never have enough salad dressing. I know a few people who share this same sentiment, and when I mentioned something to a staff person there, they did not seem to care. I was very polite, and suggested that they provide more dressing. I guess they are happy just being mediocre, and not listening to their patron’s suggestions. This place is good if you happen to be in the neighborhood, but I would not reccommend going here for a special occasion especially if it is not convenient.
