Where is the Best Bakery in Austin, Texas?

We arrived a tad late and all of the breakfast pastries were sold out, including the croissants. We did decide to order lunch sandwiches as well as a couple slices of cake. The egg salad and avocado sandwiches we ate were pretty light and fresh. As far as the cake we had, the Marisa cake maybe could have used more strawberries but was still wonderful. The mocha almond cake was not too chocolatey or sweet, but the icing was too dense and heavy to fully enjoy. As far as the atmosphere, it’s a quaint cafe with a descent number of tables to sit and a friendly staff. All in all, we would definitely make a return visit to try other things and make it a point to go earlier next time.Pros + Large selection of items (if you can make it on time)Cons – Not enough pastries to last through the day

Strangely.. the espresso, pasta and desserts are just great at this place. However the ambience and lack of friendly attention from the owner makes this place terrible. The servers almost look like they work in fear. On more than one visit, I witnessed the owner publicly scold his employees. Talk about uncomfortable.. if there were alternative espresso options on this stretch I would not come back to 360..To be very fair, when the owner is not around.. this makes for a very nice place..Pros + Coffee, Desserts.. Classico PaniniCons – Owner’s bad attitude sets the poor ambience

I came in to try their shwarma but was pleased to see a huge display of sweet goodies and aisles of ethnic groceries. the food is not too bad, but also nothing special. the grocery store is great. they seem to have a large variety of foods and the staff seems helpful too. Parking is quite a pain at the burnet location however.

The patio on the lake and the live music are what really make this place. Indoor tables are cozy and candlelit, but when the live music is indoors with microphones it gets a little loud. Lattes are great, and drip coffee is good but can be inconsistent from day to day. Desserts are to die for.Pros + Great Atmosphere, good music, great dessertsCons – indoor music too loud, parking can be tough

Sweetish Hill is my go-to place for birthday cakes. They’re always just sweet enough without being cloying, and I’ve never tried one I didn’t like. They’re also reasonably priced (why go to HEB when you can get a cake for the same price that has icing made out of buttercream, not crisco?) and beautiful. Their cookies are amazing. Pros + reasonably priced cakesCons – none
