Where is the Best After-Work Bar in San Antonio, Texas?
This pub is pretty cool place to take your buddies and have a great time if Live music while your drinking tickles your fancy they have bands every Friday night, oh and don’t sweat the cover charge . . . they don’t have one. they also have karaoke on some nights and hold Texas Hold’EM tournaments on Thursdays, I would also like to mention that they do allow smoking, Have Fun.
I love this place. The food is delicious. It has an idiosyncratic Austin feel. For example, they wrap their silverware in sealed wax-paper sleeves and the waitstaff is virile and youngish, attentive college types. Chips are light, not greasy, and you have a choice of salsas. I love the fresh cut salsa made with tiny bits of tomato, jalapeno, onion, etc. It’s delicious and tastes fresh, organic. Ask for the “Boom Boom” sauce (it’s a delicious cheesy dip used in some of their entrees). I always order the veggie enchiladas. Spanish rice is very good. This is great Tex-Mex food with an organic Austin nuance. Great margaritas. The patio is small, but if you chance to get there on a breezy evening, it’s worth waiting to sit outside. Pros + Reliable Tex-Mex with a flair that will appeal to new or unfamiliar palates alsoCons – Can get crowded, uncomfortable wait area
This cozy =nook of downtown is nestled between the Watermark Hotel and Club Rive on Crockett street. The bar has a classy, laid-back, lounge feel to it and the staff are just as laid-back, but still provide the best in service. Lutfy, Ron, Jerry, Eddie and everyone there make it a point to make everyone feel welcomed, at home, and amongst family. Their personal touch of service and comraderie is what gives Soho that edge above all the bars. They have a great drink selection and a great selection of wines and cigars. I recommend the house wines. I do wish they sold more wines by the glass instead of the bottle and that they had a better selection of Mexican imported beer.
