Max’s Wine Dive is definitely that: a dive. I don’t know what I expected but with all the rave reviews, I was thinking it would a bit more upscale. But walking into the tight space, you feel like you’re in Texas. It feels down-home, divey, with concrete floors, diner-like booths and stools, and a bar that screams old school. The interesting thing is their take on gourmet. My first bite was the much-publicized, overly decadent, flavor-full calorie laden, cholesterol-boosting fried egg sandwich. Filled with fried egg and bacon, with bread grilled in truffle oil and served with chips fried in truffle oil, this dish caused a major sensory overload, not to mention a huge bout of omg how many calories have i consumed guilt. I only finished half the sandwich, but it was memorable, to say the least. My partners in crime ordered a chicken pot pie, and a salmon dish, respectively, and liked their dishes too. We ordered a “kick-ass Spanish red wine” that didnt turn out to be too kick-ass,

I went here based on the martini reviews, and they really do have the best ones in town! So many to choose from, but if you tell the bartender what you like- they’ll know the perfect martini for you. The place was quite small, but great if your going out with your spouse or girlfriends to relax and chat. I really liked this place, the only thing that creeped me out were the guys that were there- just didn’t feel very safe… Overall I’d go back with a group or my husband…Pros + Best Martinis I’ve ever had, cute & cozy placeCons – hard parking, tiny, not safe young women

I have been to this bar a couple of times. It is a good place to start the night. Our waitress was ok. She was good looking and that is important to us…haha. The drinks were expensive but it was worth it. One could taste the alcohol. You will find older crowd here. The dance floor is small and not many people will be dancing. I think it was latin night went we went. They played a lot of salsa, bachata, etc. The bar does not get very crowded. Overall it is a good place to hang out. Pleople in this club dress casual but pretty.Pros + nice atmosphere, pretty people, Cons – music was not very good to us

I have visited this place several times before for a variety of events at Minute Maid Park, and have always had a great time. Its really nice to have somewhere air -conditioned so close to the ball park, especially during the summer. It’s definately a fast and furious rush before and after Astros games, but that is to be expected being one of the only restaurants that close to the stadium. Recently my wife and I reserved their party room for our company outing and I must admit they really bent over backwards to make sure our experience went perfectly. The bartender was friendly and helpfull, and the food was on time and prepared exactly to our specifications. I have read some previous reviews of this place and am a lilttle suspicious of what they were expecting in a sports bar setting, especially on a gameday. I would think it must be pretty hectic and crazy due to the size and timeliness of the crowds from Minute Maid. I just wanted to put my two-cents in, and I definately plan on go

I love Baker St. Pub! The specials are great for Rice Village and the food is yummy…especially the hamburgers! You can sit inside or outside under a canopy and there’s lots of space. You can play pool or darts inside or just chill and people watch. My friends love to hang out here! Parking can be a small problem if it’s later at night, but you can always pay for the garage convenience. Pros + Specials, FoodCons – Parking
