Where is the Best After-Work Bar in Chicago, Illinois?

I visited the Atlantic when it first opened and discovered that the Irish owner knows first hand about Irish pubs. Almost as if planning for the future, this place has supplanted a Lincoln Park or Wrigleyville quality bar into the north-of-Lawrence Lincoln corridor. I keep going back because of friendly staff. They also have food, the Atlantic salmon is good, and the Shepard’s pie is hearty. Don’t forget to ask for the daily specials. Evident true Irish culture and friendliness has echoes of certain south side Irish bars, but these are Cub fans and everyone is welcome. This place is ideal for locals in this area, but also draws the international crowd seeking a true Irish pub. (Which football is on today?) It’s modern and new in terms of flatscreen tv’s but old fashioned in the ways of tending bar. There is plenty of space for private parties or high volume nights in the back, which is a cross between a game room and speakeasy. Darts, foosball, “bags” in the summer, softball teams, mm

Great place to start or end the night. Good service, the hostess seats you. Excellent bar snacks and a great variety of dinks. Not too expensive for being Trump, like I said I would recommend to start the night or end it here and just have a couple cocktails. Crowd was kinda older and touristy I imagine that it will get more local as the place catches on. Pros + the view, lots of different drink coicesCons – kinda pricey but worth it

Next week is going to suck! See, this week I really spoiled myself with two excellent prix fixe dinners. A few days after popping my Restaurant Week cherry, I ventured to Kinzie Chophouse to dine with some Yelp girlfriends. Kinzie is featuring their Winter Delights prix fixe special, which runs until March 19th. $20 gets you a choice of 2 salads, a choice of 4 entrees and a choice of 3 desserts. For my meal I went with the Chophouse salad, herb-crusted salmon, and chocolate cake. The salad was fine, a simple mixed green salad with a balsamic dressing. My entree was a generous serving of salmon over mustard sauce with a side of broccoli. The salmon was well prepared; it was both flavorful and moist. My only complaint about my entree is that I wish the mustard sauce had more kick, I found it to err on the bland side. To cap off my meal I went with the chocolate cake, it was so good! The cake was warm, with a soft, gooey center and chocolate sauce drizzled over the top. My plate was garni

This is my first review as I usually do not write these, but I have been to Justin’s a few times and live in the neighborhood. I really like the bar, beer garden, and I have always had great food, but the one thing I do not like is the lack of weekly drink specials. I understand no specials on the weekends, but I like to go places during the week that have some sort of drink deal. I am a student and tend to frequent places that have at least a decent special and it seems that everytime I have been there, they do not offer anything but the obscure beer of the month. When it comes down to it, if I want to go out on a Monday, I usually try to go somewhere that is not going to cost me my very small paycheck. Especially since there are a ton of bars in the same area that offer great deals during the week. Pros + good foodCons – no drink specials

What a great time! My husband and I were given special attention as were others also celebrating an anniversary or birthday, and at no extra charge. The DJ had everyone involved, laughing and dancing. She made the day. The food (baked tilapia, roasted veggies, glazed chicken, and a wonderful alfredo style pasta) was excellent. There was even turtle cheesecake among the desserts! Using the Entertainment Guide, we paid only $42 for two of us on a lunch cruise. Can’t wait to go again, and I don’t even mind paying full price.
