Where is the Best Affordable Haircut in Portland, Oregon?
The last, very negative review was shocking. Someone was having a bad day.I’ve been a patron of this salon since a referral six years ago. I’ve had services from all three principals and many of the young, talented stylists. I’ve sent a great many people there myself: some really needed help to correct heinous overprocessing and bad cuts/color. Others had very specific needs (a dark haired businesswoman who’s gone platinum these last few years) requiring a delicate hand, needs that could only be addressed by someone with excellent experience. They’re all still clients. I’ve had cuts and color and straightening treatments and styling. Never once have I had anything but the highest praise for this salon. And, by the way, not that it matters, but you’d find a great many Portland “who’s who” in that computer system, and they don’t truck with a bad experience. What speaks to me about Hello Gorgeous is the business model upon which the salon is staffed. The cream of the crop is cul
Rudy’s advertises itself as a walk-ins only place, but that’s far from the truth. You can call ahead and ask the receptionist to put your name on “the list” for a specified time. That way when you arrive by that time or later, you’ll get the next available chair. Those who arrived before you, but didn’t have their name on the list get to ride pine, or in this case the oak church pew, for a while longer. If you don’t know about this, it’s extremely frustrating. Depending on who the receptionist is that day, you can make your so called non-appointment appointment either only an hour ahead or anytime that day. If you can name a particular stylist, that’ll also garner you certain special priviledges. The haircuts are usually really good. However, getting into a chair without blowing a gasket because certain folk get cuts like in a school lunch line can be challenging.Good luckPros + Good cutsCons – Highly dramatic receptionist
When I moved to Portland from San Diego, I had a haircut I loved, and went to a stylist for a trim, telling her I wanted the same cut, just a trim. She cut my shoulder-length, layered cut short, and I was miserable. After it started growing out, I read about DLS and decided to give Amie a try after reading that she was a curly hair specialist. I showed her a picture of the style I liked, and she trimmed my hair and suggested that I wait 3 months for my next trim in order for the length to grow back. I left the salon feeling pretty again, and knew I had found the perfect stylist. I loved my cut, and it continued to look great for the entire 12 weeks until my next appointment, which I think is absolutely amazing! Now, 10 months later, I have my length back, AND a beautiful haircut., which I receive lots of compliments on. Amie cuts my hair dry, which I think has a lot to do with the wonderful way the cut turns out, because I have hair that looks completely different when it’s wet
I had been looking for someone to trust with my hair and i read so many good reviews on Jena I decided to giver her a try. It was very convenient since she starts at 6am so I can get my hair done before I need to go into work. I went in the first time not knowing what I wanted and some how it turned out better than what I could have dreamed of. I recently went back to get highlights in to give my hair texture for an up-do for a wedding I was in, She listened to what I needed I gave me highlights that look natural, hide when I have my hair down, and makes my hair look amazing when its up. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have never done anything dramatic to my hair but in her hands I feel like anything she does will make me look amazing in the end. My next appointment is for a Keratin treatment to straighten out my frizzy hair. She gave me a lot of information on it, and gave me good advice whether I should do it or not because of my hair type. She knows her stuff! I wouldn’t place
