I made an appointment and they were able to see me on the same day. They offered me a beer when I got there. Overall the atmosphere is nice and the staff is pleasant. The girl that cut my hair did a great job with the facial massage. You get a face and scalp massage and this parafin wax cr@p on your hands (that does nothing) for an extra $5. The haircut was $33. The haircut was okay..actually it was a little lopsided. All in all I would say the for the price the place is medicore. I am not going back.

Since I moved from Tokyo to the U.S. sixteen years ago, I have gone to countless salons (high-end-schmancy places, Japanese salons, etc.). Once you get used to the level/skill/sense of trend of Japanese hair styling, expectations are high and you become easily disappointed….and, perhaps like me, end up wearing hats all the time. Anyway, I read the reviews for Ultra (love the name) and made an appointment for my daughter Anya since I already had an appointment with a Japanese salon in D.C. Anya brought in a sketch and conveyed the usual, “wash-and-go, nothing fussy please.” . Gia understood exactly what she wanted and gave her a gorgeous cut that is no fuss in the morning. I was so impressed with Anya’s cut that I cancelled my D.C. appointment and made one with Ultra. Gia and Sharyn gave me a great consultation and we were all on the same page. Gia gave me highlights, a gloss, and a cut. I walked out of there impressed, feeling fabulous and looking 10 years younger. So many

I just moved to Philly and called a few salons in the midst of a hair color disaster after picking up some Feria (liars) from Walgreens. My hair was a horrible black (the hardest color to get out) and I desperately just wanted to be a brunette again. The folks at DNA immediately handed the phone to Tim who talked me through it and told me to come in that afternoon for a consultation. I went in a few days later for the full color correction treatment and Tim gave me exactly what I was looking for. I’m back to being a brunette and he even gave me a conditioning treatment for free. The staff is excellent – friendly and professional. The price was way less than expected. But when it comes down to it – i feel amazing!! Tim and everyone at DNA did a fabulous job. Thank you to all of them. There is a reason they were chosen as the best in Philly by Elle Magazine!! Pros + great prices, friendly staff, free refreshments

I found myself in Philly with two inch roots on a complicated color & cut. At first glance I thought I had made a mistake in choosing Dave’s since it looks like a barber shop, but Lisa was so nice I decided to give her a try. My color & style is not something you see everyday, but Lisa managed it like a real pro. My color is FANTASTIC and my trim was perfectly done. She only charged $75 when I’m used to $100+ elsewhere. My husband also got a cut by Merle and it looks great. These ladies are super nice and Lisa can handle anything you throw her way! Pros + Nicest Ladies in TownCons – Cash
