Where is the appendix located in the human body?
In the human body the appendix is attached to the upper part of the large intestines or the colon called the cecum. It is a lengthy narrow tube or appendage that looks like a worm. Your appendix may become irritated or inflamed and will require treatment before it bursts. If this happens, then you will need medical treatment to have it taken out. The jury is still out regarding the function of the appendix.
