Silchester is a village as well a civil parish located in Hampshire, UK. According to the census conducted in the year 2001 the total population of this region was nine hundred and eighteen. It is well known for its neighboring archaeological spot of Silchester Roman town or Calleve Atrebatum, which was initially occupied by Romans in AD 45. It is also said to be the finest conserved Roman wall in entire Britain. Silchester is situated exactly ten miles south-west of the huge town of Reading and is approximately five miles north of Basingstoke. The village has its own separate school, pub and a Roman wall with Amphitheater. There is a small church built next to the Roman wall. In this region children between the age of 11 and 16 receive free education which is funded by the government.
