Where Is Segovia?
Segovia is the name of a city in Spain. It is situated in the capital of Segovia province and is its capital. It is based at about an hour to the north of Madrid. It was called as Segovia since the time of the Romans and the Moorish people. It is a Celtic name and it means “fortress”. It is a very old and ancient city. Coins used to be minted in this place during the olden times. Apart from that it also has a wealth of monuments, including the cathedral, a famous ancient Roman aqueduct. It is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is surrounded by alls that date back to the 8th century. Owing to these famous monuments, Segovia is a very well known tourist destination, especially as a day-trip from Madrid. Segovia is also famous for its food, drink, and night-life. It has a population of 55,586 residents. It is also a municipality.
