Then, you will be given the option to have the HTML code for the page you’ve created sent to your email address. You’ll need to save the HTML code if you want to post your page on the web. • What is HTML? Hypertext Markup Language (HTML for short), is a language that formats text for the web. HTML enables line breaks, space between paragraphs, hypertext links, graphics, bold & italic text, text of different sizes and colors, centered text, background colors and images, tables, and all of the other features seen on web pages. Without HTML, the page you are looking at would look like this. • After I click the “Create” button, will my page actually be on the internet? No, only the HTML code for it will be created. In order for the page to be accessible on the internet, a file containing that HTML code has to be posted on a web server. Y
