Where Is Paarl?
Paarl which means pearl according to the Dutch language is said to be the third oldest settlement in the Republic of South Africa. According to the census conducted in the year 2001, Paarl had a total population of 108,000 which made it one of the most thickly populated are in Western Cape Province. It is positioned approximately sixty kilometres northeast of Cape Town in the Western Cape Province. Paarl is quiet famous for its memorable past and amazing scenic beauty. Paarl is pronounced in various different ways in other languages, for example in English it is pronounced as ‘Paarl’, where as in the Afrikaans it is pronounced as Perel thought it is spelt as Paarl. This region is quiet famous for its Pearl Mountain or “Paarl Rock”.
