Where is New Harmony, Indiana?
New Harmony is about 25 minutes from the Evansville airport. It’s located on the banks of the Wabash River and is described as “an experience like no other… first a spiritual sanctuary that later became a haven for international scientists, scholars, and educators.” For more about New Harmony history, visit http://www.usi.edu/hnh/history.asp. Will I have a roommate? Will there be linens? Not necessarily – we can arrange single accommodations, but if you are attending with a friend, we suggest you room with one another, and then we can offer another space to a possible participant. And yes to linens. How experienced do I need to be? We expect participants would have attended a writing workshop or class previously, but this is not required. As for artistic ability, Julie, our resident artist, will be working with the assumption that we are all beginners, but she welcomes advanced artists as well for individual sessions and critiques. Will there be private consultations and conferences?
