Where is New Brunswick? What is Fredericton like?

New Brunswick is an ocean-side province within easy access to major cities – Toronto, Montreal, New York and Boston. (Please see http://w3.stu.ca/stu/future_students/basics/location/location.aspx.) By car, Fredericton is less than six hours from Portland, Maine. We enjoy a moderate climate and four distinct seasons without the extreme temperatures of the Canadian north or the American south. Fredericton represents the best of two worlds, featuring big-city choices in food, entertainment, and shopping and a small town feel among it’s tree-lined streets, Victorian-style mansions, and plentiful parks. In the summer, New Brunswick’s capital city on the banks of the scenic St. John River is a community of 50,000. During the academic year, the city flourishes as the influx of students increases the population by 15,000. For more information on Fredericton, please see http://www.fredericton.
