Upgrading processors on a laptop can be a pretty serious job. I believe on a few models, you can take the tiny screws out of a small panel on the bottom of your laptop and there it will be. However, the wide majority have the processor sitting right on top of the motherboard like any other computer. The way to get to it is to pry the plastic area that surrounds the keys on the keyboard off and keep taking out layers until you see it. I seriously advise against this. Even at the shop where we have all the necessary tools it can be a nerve wracking experience to take a laptop apart. There will be a lot of popping and cracking like the plastic is breaking and it WILL leave marks around the edges from where you pried with a small screwdriver, or butterknife or whatever. I can tell you WHERE on the motherboard it’s located, most of the time, it’s under about where the “Q” is on your keyboard, near that area should also be where the little vent is where hot air blows out.
