Where is most picturesque place to stay in Italy?
What the most picturesque place to stay in would probably be very subjective. However, I have heard and read accounts that suggest the northern mountain and lake country of the Lombardy and Piedmont regions of Italy is possibly the most scenic territory in Italy. Of course, it depends on what you consider to be scenic. The most famous lakes in these regions are Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Lake Garda. Stresa is the main summer resort on Lake Maggiore. Nearby are the islands of Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori. Near Lake Como, you will find Bellagio, Villa d’Este and Menaggio. Brescia, a city near Lake Garda, has some interesting monuments from the Roman and Renaissance times.
