Where is Katahdin Cruises?
You might think it was next to Katahdin and Baxter State Park but it’s not. The Katahdin Cruises are based out of Greenville, Maine at the southern end of Moosehead Lake and while you can see Mount Katahdin from certain points on Moosehead Lake, the star attraction of these cruises are the lake itself and the surrounding country. The name of the boat you’ll take around Moosehead lake is the Katahdin, hence the cruise line’s name. The cruises depart from the docks that are basically in the center of Greenville (it’s not a very big town). Greenville is located along Route 15 and is about an hour and a half or so from Interstate 95. You wouldn’t visit Greenville just for a cruise, but Greenville is the gateway to Maine’s North Woods. The Town provides plenty of resources for outdoor adventures. It would be best to plan a cruise along with some other activities in the area, as most of the cruises are half-day events that take up the better part of the afternoon. What should
