where is going to be opened the next underwater hotel?”
Currently under construction in Dubai, Hydropolis will be the world’s first luxury underwater hotel. It will include three elements: the land station, where guests will be welcomed, the connecting tunnel, which will transport people by train to the main area of the hotel, and the 220 suites within the submarine leisure complex. It is one of the largest contemporary construction projects in the world, covering an area of 260 hectares, about the size of London’s Hyde Park. “Hydropolis is not a project; it’s a passion,” enthuses Joachim Hauser, the developer and designer of the hotel. His futuristic vision is about to take shape 20m below the surface of the Persian Gulf, just off the Jumeirah Beach coastline in Dubai.
Istanbul’s 7-Story Underwater Hotel to Open in 2010: Visitors to Istanbul will soon have a chance to view the most spectacular ocean views on the planet. A seven floor, seven-star hotel is being built underwater on what was formerly a tobacco factory. There will be exhibition halls, and restaurants, and all rooms will be sea facing. This isn’t the first such underwater hotel complex in the world. That honor goes to the $500 million Poseidon Hotel which is currently being built off Fiji. The Istanbul hotel differs in that it is being built under the city center, which should make for an interesting experience. The hotel’s inauguration is set to coincide with the city’s taking over from Linz, Austria as the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010.
Daily Awesome – Dubai’s Underwater Hotel June 16th, 2009 by Jay Tomio | Filed under News. I love anything that make me feel like I’m living in a Science Fiction world, and in Dubai it always seems to be that something is being churned up that’s amazing and functional monument that brings us a step closer. I was reading an article and apparently their Hydropolis Underwater Hotel is set to open this month. The construction itself isn’t really news. The project has been in the works for years and there are actually other underwater hotels, but it seems when the UAB put its down they just set standards for opulence. Called the Hydropolis Undersea Resort and set in the Arabian Gulf, it’s going to be about 60 feet underwater, where they are going to fit 220 suites (no economy under the sea people).
