Where is fuel filter on 1980 Datsun 4×4 truck?
There are a few. There is one in the engine compartment on the left side by the fuel pump. Then there is one on top of the gas tank, and one in the gas tank itself. I eliminated the one on top of the gas tank by conecting the lines since it isnt really neccessary. Since you cant replace the filter that is inside the tank, you have to drain the tank and drop it. Then you can spray break cleaner or another solvent back through the fuel line and you should see it come out the filter. This is about the only way to clean it. While you have the gas tank dropped it is a good idea to replace all the rubber fuel lines and clamps you can see since this will help prevent any leakages which way happen to old and brittle pipes. Once you have a leakage the fuel lines will suck air and you vehicle wont be able to build up pressure in the fuel lines and will constantly die on the road.
