Utah’s death-row inmates are housed in Uinta 1, a maximum-security facility at the Utah State Prison. The housing unit includes eight total sections with 12 cells in each section, for a total of 96 maximum-security cells. These cells are reserved for both death-row inmates and for those inmates whose behavior has required them to live in the prison’s most restricted areas.
