Established in September 1980, Darien National Park was declared a World Heritage Site in 1981 and was designated as a Biosphere Reserve in 1983. Visitors interested in witnessing the fantastic sights, sounds and atmosphere of Darien National Park can reach the park by air to El Real, the closest town to the park.
