Cabarete lies on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, just 20-minutes from the Gregorio Luperon International Airport (POP) in Puerto Plata, which is served by a growing number of daily non-stop flights from cities throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Latin America. Primary medical and trauma care I provided by the Cabarete Servi-Med located in the center of Cabarete. This facility is operated 24 / 7, is run by a German doctor with an international staff of mostly US trained physicians and is well regarded by ex-pats living in the area. More complex cases are referred to the Burnigal Hospital located in Puerto Plata, about 45 minutes away. Coming on line by the end of 2008 is the Cabarete Medical Center, a 15 Minute Drive from Palmera
