At present the police in Virginia, Washington DC and the five eastern Canadian provinces employ RDD’s. Because of the recent FHwA regulation which prohibits nationally the use of radar (and laser) detectors in commercial vehicles, interest in the use of RDD’s by law enforcement agencies has increased. NOTE: It is the responsibility of the individual radar detector owner to know the laws in your area regarding the legality of the use of laser/radar detectors.
