Where is Alphabet City in New York City, New York and why do they call it that?
Alphabet City is an area of the lower east side of Manhattan. It is called Alphabet City because it is the only area of Manhattan that contains singular alphabetic letters as the name of streets: Avenue A, Avenue B, Avenue C, and Avenue D.
