Aldo has made a name for itself through its own fashionable, quality brands, dedication to customer service, team-like corporate culture and ability to capture prime real estate in key markets. Its parent company, Montreal-based The Aldo Group, is possibly Canada’s best, and least-known, footwear success story, next to Bata International, Toronto. The company takes its name from its founder and president, Aldo Bensadoun, a French immigrant who founded Aldo Shoes in 1972 as footwear boutiques within clothing stores.
