Trisha, if they are free, easy to learn, and come with easy to follow instructions, they will probably not be very good effects. Check out your local library for a book or two for starters. Next step would be to invest in a couple of good books for your own collection. You might want to go to ebay and look for “magic card tricks” and see if any of the offers are something you can’t live without. Also, many of the members of the Society of American Magicians give lessons, but they will probably charge a fee.
