Other than the obvious exceptions like high-crime areas or war-zones, etc., I definitely believe that any place is just as safe as any other and by the same token just as unsafe as any other depending on what you do in the way of personal safety. Even in the “safest” places, anything can happen if you let your guard down. I lived in Asia for a few years and did a great deal of traveling, sometimes on my own, and much of it was in countries where I didn’t speak the language or know a soul. I was stupid enough to walk around alone late at night on one of my trips, and I got a scare that turned out to be nothing (or, well, just a jogger, not a mugger), thankfully, but it reminded me that I should have made other arrangements such as a cab. I never made that mistake again, and I got serious about avoiding other mistakes, but I also have *wonderful* pictures and memories of great times, so it was worth it! With all that said, I’d pick the furthest away, so on your list, that would probably
