Where is a good, cool weather spot for family vacation this summer?
I can only speak specifically about Vermont, but my family has found that ski lodges make excellent summer vacation sites. The lodges are usually not booked; it’s off-season for them, so the rates are usually lower. They still have the family amenities (game room, etc.) that a normal hotel wouldn’t. There’s often outdoor activities available nearby as well. Best of all, the air is lovely: fresh and cool. Not necessarily the best choice for an active young family, but terrific for a slightly older family (parents and teenagers running in every direction at once fifty-one weeks of the year). A nice chance to relax, decompress, and spend time with each other.
