Where in the Bible (including apocryphal books) does it say that some children are sent to Hell?
by Midgardsormr on March 6th, 2008 The doctrine that unbaptized children (even infants) go to Hell was formulated by St Augustine, who developed a rigorous doctrine of Original Sin. As much as I respect Augustine and think he was among the most important men in church history, I think he was wrong on that score. Augustine’s concept of God was long on justice and short on mercy. God is both things, and each balances the other. Unfortunately, no one’s theology is perfect. This is where I think Augustine’s fails. That’s just my opinion, though. There’s so much I don’t know and so much that simply cannot *be* known. Comments I think He was an opportunist myself. I really don’t think he believed anything he said.
