Where in the bible does it say its wrong to be gay?
Well I feel almost reluctant to give you the verses to be honest. Just because the bible says something, doesn’t mean you have to follow it or that you’re a bad person either, or even that you’re not a Christian; it just means you accept yourself, and that’s great. *Sighs* Now for the hate verses: Leviticus 18:22: “You shall not lie with a male as those who lie with a female; it is an abomination.” Leviticus 20:13: “If a man lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination and they shall surely be put to death.” Notice how there’s no condemnation of lesbianism? Obviously the idea of a woman having sexuality of her own separate to that of her husband was a concept beyond those in biblical times, which just goes to show what an outdated load of **** it is. I have never read the bible but from my understanding the quotes from the bible against homosexuality are not there at all but are misquotations made by priests and ministers to make it appear as so the bible does speak out against gays. From my understanding the full quote may not be read out and cut short so it appeared to give a new meaning to what was really being said. The bible has been distorted a lot over the last 2000 years to give the church more power and control over the behaviour of church goers. I am not criticizing the the bible as it has a lot of good information and lessons for people to follow to lead good lives, but was also written in times where things we understand today were then seen as miracles. The church got a lot of power and wealth out of controlling and scaring their followers into being good church goers and believers but unfortunately the bible was rewritten and misquoted to keep control over the church goers.
