WHERE IN PARTICUALR WILL HYDROVENTURI SYSTEMS BE SUITABLE?
Over the past three years HydroVenturi has collected information on possible Tidal Stream (TS) and Run-of-River (RoR) sites for system deployment in most major markets and prioritized these based on a selected combination of factors such as the amplitude and speed of tidal flows, an identified need for power in nearby communities, low environmental impact, proximity to the end users, favourable local attitudes to renewable energy projects, etcetera. TS and RoR sites of that fit these basic criteria include: in Europe; the coastal areas and some of the rivers in UK, France, Norway, Iceland, Spain and Portugal, Poland, Russia, and parts of the Baltic states, in North America; the coastal and river regions of Newfoundland, California, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts/New England, Hawaii, Florida, parts of the central East Coast, British Columbia and Alaska. In Asia/South Asia; coastal areas and some of the rivers in India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia.
