Single Handed is fictional you know, I dont know what the building is that is featured in it as an industrial school, but the storyline is an obvious reference to St Joseph’s Industrial School in Letterfrack which has achieved lasting notoriety due to the treatment of boys there (147 boys died in the “care” of the Christian Brothers).
