This resource is excellent for understanding fundamental “rules” for modeling and exposing data for a MicroStrategy application. In addition, the above-referenced BIDK can be used to illustrate how a data model supports the MicroStrategy logical design – which is truly a picture of the business and how it measures itself. Ultimately, the data architecture and model(s) that support a MicroStrategy deployment are varied and dependent on the application’s business reporting and analytic needs. Recent enhancements and additions to the MicroStrategy products allow architects and project designers broad flexibility in modeling and integrating data from disparate sources.
