Where have all the black British soul singers gone?
You hit the nail on the head. Black soul singers in this country do not make it- Corinne Bailey Rae is the only one that is having some success over here. If you want to make bucks you need to focus elsewhere (usually the US). Look at the likes of Lemar, extremely talented singer, but languishing in obscurity. Beverley Knight, Mica Paris – all those heavweight talents should be hitting it big, but they arent. Instead Duffy is hailed as a huge talented – the girl voice sounds like a deflating balloon!!
