CSST has now been approved for commercial and residential installation in all 50 states. While IAPMO does not include CSST in the Uniform Plumbing Code, its Research and Testing Service unit has received the Gastite system and issued documentation that indicates it complies with ANSI/IAS LC-1, the standard that regulates CSST. The product is recognized in the Uniform Mechanical Code by ICBO, in all the ICC International Codes and in NFPA’s National Fuel Gas Code. Even in jurisdictions that use the Uniform Plumbing Code, CSST manufacturers like Gastite have frequently been able to secure approval at the local level.
