definitely get a Haynes or Chilton’s repair manual, avail at most auto parts places, the starter will be on the bottom side( have to crawl under the truck) of the motor tucked up beside the oil pan at the rear of the engine, just looks like a big metal canister from the bottom and is attached just before the transmission.
