WHERE exactly… is the flag/flags on the moon …….exactly?

Even the Hubble can’t see them. They are too small to be resolved with even the best we have here. The new orbiter they sent to the moon to observe and photograph….may be able to see what we left there with the high resolution equipment on board. We’ll see.

The flags that are on the moon are of standard size (just like what you would buy at the store about 3 feet by 4 feet). Nothing really special about them, since they were apparently purchased “off the rack”. Check out the link below for the rather odd history of how the flags were purchased and sent to the moon. Also, to calculate feature size limitation for a given telescope, check out the other link.

The landing sites are all marked in Antonin Rükl’s Atlas of the Moon (Sky). If you’ve got a huge telescope big enough to see the flags, surely you have a copy of Rükl’s Atlas too.

There are SIX flags on the moon. Every moon landing crew put up a flag. http://www.boulder.swri.edu/~durda/Apoll… Zoom right on into each landing site. BUT– you could just wait for this current mission to complete it’s high resolution mapping, it should be able to see the landers, and moon buggy- not the flags http://www.nasa.

its impossible to see the flags because no one ever stepped on the moon
