Previously, ABB has built analogous submarine cables in the US (Cross Sound cable) and Norway (Toll A). Submarine cables connecting one or several countries also exist between Poland and Sweden (SwePol submarine cable) and between Sweden and Germany (Baltic Cable). Estlink’s unique technology is similar to that of Cross Sound cable in the US. At present, ABB is also building the NorNed cable to connect Norway with the Netherlands.
