WebLogic Server 8.1 added a capability called “split source” for use by Workshop.The purpose is to leave the Workshop-generated files out of the user’s webapp (Workshop project) directories so that users can more easily manage their apps in source control. The generated code for various Workshop components is stored in the “.workshop” directory in the application. The .workshop directory contains a mirror subdirectory for each webapp in the app. The .workshop/ directory contains the EJBs and other code that are generated to support each Workshop component (JWS, JPD, JCS) in . The complete application requires both the “project source” (the original project/webapp directory) and the .workshop directory.
