Where Does Transcendental Meditation Come From?
The knowledge of Transcendental Meditation has been kept lively and pure in the Vedic tradition of India, the world’s oldest tradition of knowledge. Veda means truth, or knowledge, and this tradition provides knowledge about many areas of life. For example Yoga comes from the Vedic tradition, as does Ayur-Veda, the world’s most ancient system of natural health care, and Sthapatya Veda – knowledge about building in tune with Natural Law. In modern times the knowledge of Transcendental Meditation has been spread by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Maharishi received the technique from his Teacher with whom he studied for many years, before inaugurating a world-wide movement to spread the knowledge of Transcendental Meditation around the world in 1957.
